I recently launched my new self-published photo book entitled BLOODWORK. BLOODWORK is a book that has been 12 years in the making. When my doctor told me my cholesterol was too high, I started to eat better, walk more, and as a photographer I brought my camera with me. That’s how I discovered the incredible genera of street photography. But all that walking didn’t just benefit my cholesterol and photography. It also had a domino effect of health benefits that further enhanced my creativity.

I’ve found even a half hour walk to and from my office every day improved my thinking, concentration, and opened the door to more creative concepts. I could focus more, and it did more for my energy level than a cup of coffee ever could. And what better way to experience the human truth, than to walk through city streets and take it all in. In addition to weight loss and your clothes fitting better, walking at least 9800 steps per day may cut your dementia risk in half as stated by findings on the JAMA Network website. Something that will benefit your creativity long into your later years.

I’m appreciative of the positive feedback I’ve received since the release of BLOODWORK. I don’t plan on making millions from the release of my first photo book. But I do hope it inspires others to take the appropriate steps (no pun intended) toward better health.
